The Strange Monk

A monk on a festive street,
Trapped in a gambler's group,
Like a monkey's-
Drunken hand, dropped-
In a bustling bee-hive!

The strange monk!,
Stands like a huge rock,
For it's time to pray!
No chanting, no offering,
No devotee, not a temple flower!
Strange as a monkey,
In a minister's chamber!

A beggar to another,
"Better learn business skills!"
And, dressed in saffron-
Getting to the crowd,
And 'the beggar's bowl is full!'

Strange monk!
And a strange God!
To fill the beggar's bowl.
