Hug Me

Can you hug me tight till I heal,
From a cold that grip me kind-less,
And warm up my heart to be back,
On it's regular schedule of a day!

Let me run to my beloved's bosom,
Like a man in ambush running for cover.
Or a baby in its hurts and tantrums,
For you are my warmth ever smiling.

When in this brittle brave efforts,
Pretending away all fears
To keep me safe under your wings,
And me feeling your shivering feathers,
In the coldest hour of our life.
Let me now burn with the sun,
With a fire to warm you with a hug,
In a love that's supreme,
Found in a Christ at the mountain,
Of sacrifices that loving hearts ever know!
